Paisley, the Director Gyal
Paisley Sutton (she/her) is a Detroit-born director and producer whose work centers the histories and living narratives of the African diaspora. She is the director of the award-winning short documentary Descendants and has produced digital campaigns for global brands including Prime Video and National Geographic. She also co-wrote the Grammy-nominated music video "Lockdown" by Anderson.Paak.
In 2021, Paisley and Patrice Cheesman founded WINNIE MEDIA, a Detroit-based production company dedicated to expanding access and authorship for underrepresented creative voices. Her work is guided by a deep commitment to ancestral memory, cultural preservation, and storytelling as a tool for education and collective healing.
